Description

SAIC is seeking a Network Engineer Lead located onsite in Norfolk, VA to support the Tactical Network (TACNET) contract as the Enhanced Distance Support (EDS) Team Lead utilizing Tactical Networks Remote Access (TNRA) to provide remote support from an onsite secure lab to Navy Fleet Customers.

Job Description

• Project management providing support, guidance, and direction to subject matter experts (SMEs) pertaining to Enhanced Distance Support (EDS) tasking and remote technical assistance to US Navy ships for supported C4I systems (i.e., ADNS, CANES, ISNS, CENTRIX-M, SCI Networks, VIXS, and WRBS).
• Interface with Active-Duty Military personnel, US Government employees, and other external stakeholders to provide break/fix course of actions (COAs) pertaining to NAVWAR PMW160 fielded Tactical Networks in a fast paced, high-energy environment.
• Analyze issues in an enterprise LAN shipboard environment to determine the best course of action towards resolution. - Interface with US Navy Customers regarding the proper approach to maintaining Navy Afloat networks and associated components and capabilities.
• Ensure that all metrics are being collected, maintained, and provided to the customer.
• Update, track, and execute work schedules as required.
• Analyze existing operations and scheduling training sessions and meetings to discuss improvements.
• Read daily reports and view status boards to monitor task progress, make assessments, and provide way forward to ensure task scope requirements are met while adhering to scheduling constraints.
• Assist with developing SOPs and guides to facilitate repeatable processes and best practices.
• Writing progress reports and delivering presentations to the relevant stakeholders.
  
  

Travel Occasional CONUS and OCONUS travel required in support of customer requirements. (off-hours support may be required on occasion).

Qualifications

Required education and experience

• Bachelor's degree and 5 years’ experience in a relevant field; years of experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  
  

Required Skills

• Experience with TACNET Programs of Record Systems ADNS, CANES, CENTRIXS, ISNS, SCI Networks, VIXS OR WRBS.
• Experience supporting Network/Server/IT within an enterprise environment.
• Management and/or leadership experience in the IT field.
  
  

Required Clearance

• Must have a current Active Secret Clearance. Higher level clearances are acceptable.
  
  

Required Certifications

• Must have a current DoD IAT Level II certification such as CompTIA Security , CISSP, or CASP certification.
• Must be able to obtain one additional certification such as CCNA, MCSA, MCSE, Linux , VCP, or equivalent within 6 months of hire date.
