Description
SAIC is seeking a Software Engineer Team Lead to support the SAIC Engineering Team in Huntsville AL.

Job Duties:
- Work in a collaborative Agile scrum software engineering team, utilizing a suite of collaborative engineering software tools. Agile activities include: participation and leadership in daily scrums, submitting and reviewing pull requests, story-point estimating, writing software documentation, and reviewing designs and code.
- Perform software engineering to include: requirements analysis, design, coding, integration, and testing of complex distributed web-based systems for data applications.
- Build web application using Java, as well as support deployment activities to pre-production and production environments using Docker or Docker-type containers.
- Conform to team guidelines and best practices at several levels: company policy and practices, Agile, documentation and code style.
- Maintain existing code through defect correction and refactoring.
- Background in DoD Software Development Practices and Guidelines.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree and nine (9) years of experience; Masters degree an seven (7) years of experience.
Required Security Clearance:
- Must have the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance, and eventual Top-Secret Clearance ().
Required Skills:
- Proficient in building User Interfaces with modern web development languages, such as JavaScript ES6, HTML5, and CSS.
- Proficient in Red Hat Enterprise Linux command line and utilities (within the last year).
- Proficient in Java development on IntelliJ IDEA or VS Code or similar.
- Proficient in using Issue and Project Tracking Software, such as Atlassian.
- Experience and understanding of deploying with Containers, such as Docker/Docker Compose.
- Experience with software estimating.
- Experience in developing associated software documentation.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong knowledge of DoD Cyber Security auditing, continuous monitoring, and analysis.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to learn quickly in a highly technical, fast-paced environment.
