SAIC is seeking qualified Software Engineering Manager to join our dynamic team in supporting the US Coast Guard program.
AFMS is the premier agency responsible for implementation, integration, and development of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and training and analysis standards that support the US Air Force (USAF), Department of Defense (DoD), and mission partners requiring these capabilities to support the Warfighter in full-spectrum operations.
This role is 100% remote!
Responsibilities:
- Manage subordinate management and/ or experienced specialist employees who exercise significant latitude and independence.
- Provide advice and subject matter expertise to Project Manager and customer.
- Ensure team is utilizing best practices to deliver quality products on schedule.
- Conduct analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for information storage, processing, presentation, manipulation, display, or reporting.
- Determine computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops autonomous services, desktop applications, web applications, scripts, and utility programs.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in technical discipline and 15 of Software Development experience; a Master’s Degree in technical discipline and 13 years of related experience required; 4 years of experience can be substituted in lieu of education.
- 5 years’ experience managing a software team using Agile Methodologies
- Must be a US Citizen and hold an interim or active Secret Clearance
- Must possess or be able to obtain, within 30 days, a DoD 8570 IAT Level II (CCNA-Security, CySA, GICSP, GSEC, Security CE, CND, SSCP)
Required Skills:
- Experience working in a cloud environment
- Knowledge of planning, organizing, and making recommendations on program milestones, resourcing, and critical decision points
- Experience using PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Web Sockets.
- Experience with SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL (MongoDB) Databases.
Desired Skills
- AWS DevOps Engineer certification
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Learning Record Stores (LRS).
- Familiarity with all or some of the following tools: Moodle, Big Blue Button, Rustici, IntelliBoard
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
