Description
SAIC is looking for a Virtual Hosting Environment (VHE) Engineer to provide high-level, day-to-day operational network security maintenance, support, and system administration for complex operating systems for the US Navy’s Computer Network Defense team in No. Charleston, SC .
Job Description :
Support, test, and integrate virtual hosting solutions.
Utilize DISA STIGs to harden and secure network and security devices.
Create in-depth, accurate technical documentation.
Perform Systems Engineering activities.
Provide technical support and document VMware processes.
Travel : Anticipated travel is up to 10%, both CONUS and OCONUS. Candidate must have or be able to obtain a US Passport.
Qualifications
Required Education / Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of experience; Master’s and three (3) years of experience; years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Required skills :
Experience should include testing, integrating, and supporting secure virtual hosting environments, including hosting environment hardware, back-end storage solutions, virtualization management and virtual networking.
Solid understanding of TCP / IP fundamentals and network security best practices. Must be able to analyze network traffic at the packet level.
Have solid working knowledge of DoD Virtual Hosting requirements, vendor recommended best practices, and engineering solutions to tailor to DOD requirements.
Understand how to design, develop, install, implement, and troubleshoot custom VMware solutions.
Be self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment Extensive knowledge of the fundamentals of VMware ESXi and related technologies.
Proficiency in VMware associated programs and coding languages to include system evaluation, design, and architecture of Virtual hosting environments.
