Job Summary
This position requires hands-on experience in general facility maintenance and troubleshooting. Responsibilities include performing building repairs, patching and painting, and assisting with the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems. The candidate must be able to communicate professionally and effectively in all situations and provide excellent service to ensure the facility operates safely and efficiently. Experience working in a data center environment is required.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in maintaining mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, generators, fire detection/suppression, temperature control, and building management systems.
Use electronic ticketing systems to manage and track preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks.
Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to ensure they are in safe and operational condition.
Perform minor electrical repairs, such as replacing light bulbs, ballasts, and fuses (if experienced).
Conduct basic plumbing repairs, such as unclogging drains and servicing fixtures.
Operate machinery and tools, including drills, saws, routers, and hand tools, as needed.
Monitor building conditions and perform routine property tours during shifts.
Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, and recommend purchases as needed.
Assist with moving, loading, unloading, and storing supplies, furniture, and equipment.
Be flexible with work hours, including occasional overtime and weekend shifts.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
2-5 years of experience in a related field.
Basic knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical systems is a plus.
Proficiency with computer software, including Microsoft Office.
Previous experience working in a data center environment is required.
Ability to work 40 hours per week and occasional overtime.
Physical Requirements
Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, talk, and hear.
Must be able to squat, stoop, kneel, climb ladders, and lift/move objects up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
