What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host position at SAILFISH POINT PROPERTY OWNERS AND COUNTRY CLUB ASSOCIATION, INC?
Position Description: Greets, escorts, and provides menus to customers. Assists with miscellaneous cleaning, wiping, polishing, etc. Performs other duties as requested. This position reports to the Food and Beverage Manager.
Major Responsibilities:
- Assists with moving tables and chairs into position for meal service or special functions.
- Assists with setting tables with silverware, glassware, and other items.
- Assists with removal of soiled dishes from table, takes to dishwashing area, and replaces for next setup.
- Removes soiled linens, takes to housekeeping, and replaces with clean linen.
- Assists with serving water, may serve bread, and assist server with their tasks as necessary
- Cleans off chairs after each meal service.
- Some serving responsibilities for special events, etc.
- Adhere to teamwork policy by assisting any co-worker in order to better serve club members.
- Answer phone in accordance with Sailfish Point policies and take members “to go” orders or reservations with accuracy.
- Greet members or guests upon arrival to club in a friendly and welcoming way.
- Escort members or guests to seating offering kid’s menu, high chairs, boosters, etc.
- Sincerely thank members or guests when leaving - warm “thank you for coming”, “see you soon”, “how was your meal today”, etc.
- Reports any guest complaints or problems to manager.
Skills & Abilities:
- Prefer at least one years’ experience at an upscale restaurant or club.
- Must be able to understand and speak enough English to understand and follow directions from staff and members.
Education/Training/Certificates/Licenses:
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent desired.
Working Conditions: This position may be indoors or outdoors, at any food outlet. May also work at cater-outs in members’ homes. Must be able to stand and walk continuously for several hours at a time. Must have flexibility to bend, stoop, and reach overhead to obtain needed supplies. Must be able to lift trays of dishes, chairs, and tables approx. 20 lbs. at a time. May be required to work double shifts.* Hours and days fluctuate according to level of business.
