The specialist will work closely with pharmacists, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to enhance the billing workflow and provide exceptional service to patients. This is not the same as medical billing.
Responsibilities:
- Process and submit pharmacy claims to insurance companies accurately and in a timely manner.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility, ensuring correct billing practices.
- Investigate and resolve claim denials, submitting appeals as necessary.
- Maintain organized records of billing activities, including payment tracking and reconciliation.
- Communicate with patients regarding their billing inquiries, payment options, and insurance coverage.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to pharmacy billing.
- Collaborate with pharmacy staff to streamline billing processes and improve overall efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge in healthcare administration and pharmacy
