Position Summary and Highlights:
We are seeking a motivated Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support our surgical team in ensuring safe and effective patient care.
Certified Surgical Technicians play a crucial role in preparing operating rooms, sterilizing equipment, and assisting during surgeries.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and demonstrate knowledge of cautery safety and aseptic technique.
Schedule and Benefits:
- This is a full-time position with varied shifts based on department needs.
- PRN positions are not eligible for benefits.
- Shift differential included for evening/weekend/on call hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by the NBSTSA or as a Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) by the NCCT is required.
- At hire, Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required. (ACLS and/or PALS may be accepted in lieu of BLS)
- One year of scrub experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups.
- Demonstrates compliance with hospital safety policies and procedures.
- Able to gown and glove self and others through use of closed and open method.
- Responsible for technical equipment and supplies, including inventory, usage, organization, maintenance, and trouble-shooting.
- Independently manages instrument, sponge and sharp counts for all procedures.
- Assists RN Circulator to set up a room and obtain equipment.
