Operating Room Support Specialist Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated Operating Room Support Specialist to join our team in the Sterile Processing Department. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the preparation and maintenance of surgical equipment and supplies.
About the Role:
This position involves operating sterilization equipment, including cart washers, washer disinfectors, steam sterilizers, and other machines. You will also be responsible for cleaning, inspecting, and packaging surgical instruments, as well as preparing surgical case carts and responding to requests for instrumentation and supplies.
Responsibilities:
- Operate sterilization equipment, including cart washers, washer disinfectors, steam sterilizers, and other machines
- Clean, inspect, and package surgical instruments following established regulations
- Prepare surgical case carts and respond to requests for instrumentation and supplies
Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent is highly preferred. Prior experience in a hospital setting is preferred, but not required. CRCST or CSPDT certification is also desirable.
