Respiratory Therapist
We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Saint Alphonsus Health System. This is a full-time position working night shifts.
About the Location:
Ontario, Oregon, and Fruitland, Idaho, serve as the retail, service, and medical center for 70,000 people within a 20-mile radius. We are located near the Snake River, where it forms the Idaho-Oregon border, and are easily accessible by Interstate 84 and Oregon Highways 20/26, 30, and 201.
The Respiratory Therapist will provide general and emergency respiratory therapy procedures to patients as directed by physicians and protocols. This includes respiratory assessment, airway and ventilator management, bi-level non-invasive ventilation management, pulmonary diagnostics, delivery of medicated aerosols, bronchial hygiene therapy, lung expansion therapy, intubation, CPR, bronchoscopy assistance, arterial line placement, arterial sampling, and ABG analysis and interpretation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Routinely make rounds with physicians in critical care units.
Acts as preceptor, actively supports, and constructively contributes to the development of new and existing staff members.
Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups (Neonate, Child, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric as applicable).
Revenue management: ensures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients.
Performs airway and ventilator management, which includes assessment, application, intubation, monitoring, and evaluation of modality for infants, pediatrics, adolescences and adults.
Assists the department manager with Performance Improvement projects and other duties as needed.
Requirements:
License to practice respiratory care in the state they are performing respiratory care services in (Idaho or Oregon).
Registered as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
BASIC LIFE SUPPORT certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
