Salary: Stipend for the season $1,500
Position Description:
The coach is responsible for all aspects of directing the teams practice and play in games. Most of the participants will have previous experience playing Flag Football, but others will be playing their first organized Flag Football season. Each team participates in a league and has a set practice schedule Monday and Tuesdays 3:15-4:45pm.
Activities and Responsibilities:
- To teach Flag Football drills, concepts and strategy through effectively planned practices at a level appropriate for each member of the team.
- To organize the players to participate in games and coach them during the games.
- To effectively communicate to players, parents, and Athletic Director
- To provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all players, giving each child an equal opportunity to participate.
- To communicate effectively with the Athletic Director on all matters of policy.
- To serve as a positive role model to players, parents, officials, and fellow coaches by following all rules, demonstrating good sportsmanship.
- To communicate good health and fitness principles and positive character development concepts to players, parents, and spectators.
- To be responsible for equipment needed during the season
- To collaborate with other Saint Andrew’s coaches about skill development and best practices
- To represent the Saint Andrew's Episcopal School in a positive manner
Qualifications:
- Must have previous experience coaching Football or played at a higher level (high school, college, professional level)
- Must be of sound mind and good character.
- Must be willing to attend coaches workshops such as Positive Coaching Alliance.
