Job Overview:
The Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Teacher will provide a developmentally appropriate learning environment for children ages 4 to 5 years old, focusing on bridging the gap between preschool and kindergarten. They will teach fundamental academic and social skills to prepare them for a smooth transition into kindergarten. The teacher will create engaging lessons that cater to individual needs, assessing progress regularly.

Responsibilities and Duties: these are not written to be all inclusive and not limited to
- Create, adapt, and implement age-appropriate learning tools and curriculum
- Collaborates with Pre-K and Kindergarten teachers to adapt their learning tools and curriculum that bridges the gap between the programs
- Maintains appropriate classroom order and instruction
- Assist students with developing emotional/social skills, embracing their evolving identity, and recognizing their individual worth
- Participate in parent-teacher and student conferences
- Attend school chapel, committees, meetings, and other internal school functions.
- Participate in and support Back to School Nights, Open Houses, graduation and admissions events as scheduled on weekdays and weekends
- Chaperone student field trips
- Engage in ongoing professional development experiences, including out of the area opportunities, throughout the calendar year (including summer) as directed and supported by the administration
- Other related duties as assigned by Supervisor

Qualifications:
- At least 24 early childhood education or child development units from accredited college and possess/obtain a CA Child Development Permit
- Prefer Bachelor's in Education, Early Childhood or Child Development
- Experience in teaching Pre-K and/or Kindergarten students in a classroom environment
- Eligibility to work in the USA; we are unable to provide sponsorship
- Pass background check and provide negative TB test
- Current Bloodborne Pathogens, First Aid & CPR certifications or able to attain within the first 2 months of employment

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to visually monitor the room and students
- Prolong standing up to and above 80% of time. Includes sitting, squatting, reaching, and kneeling.
- Climb stairs and navigate sloping terrain
- Ability to move equipment/boxes and ability to lift up to 25lbs.
Work Environment:
- Navigate 10 acres of land with multi surfaces, multi-level with transitions
- Surfaces including wood, linoleum, grass, concrete, dirt, gravel.
- Sustain loud noises for a minimum of 50% of time depending on activities
- Sustain indoor artificial lighting for 80% of time or higher depending on activities, backlit monitors
- Able to handle outdoor weather including bright sun to rain, and temperature from cold to hot
