Saint Anselm College, a private, liberal arts college in the Benedictine tradition, is seeking an Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) Grant Project Director/Violence Prevention and Education Specialist (OVW Project Director). This position will be for the project period from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2027, with the possibility of extension. The role is an 11-month, part-time position (25-hours per week), with the option to work remotely for up to two days per week and flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. This position includes travel for OVW related trainings.
The OVW Project Director will work within the College Health Services department, in collaboration with the Student Development & Mission/Dean of Students Office, and will report directly to the Director of The Harbor and Violence Prevention. This individual will be responsible for overseeing and managing a grant-funded program focused on preventing and responding to domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking. Key responsibilities include developing prevention strategies, coordinating victim services, conducting training for students, faculty, and staff, and ensuring adherence to OVW grant requirements and guidelines.
Grant Management:
- Monitoring budget expenditures and ensuring compliance with OVW grant requirements.
- Preparing and submitting required reports to the Department of Justice, including data analysis and program evaluation.
- Staying updated on OVW policies and guidelines to maintain program effectiveness.
Community Engagement and Collaboration
- Building partnerships with law enforcement, campus security, student organizations, local community groups, and other stakeholders to coordinate response efforts.
- Raising awareness about gender-based violence through outreach campaigns and education initiatives.
- Facilitating community dialogues and training to promote gender equality and violence prevention.
Victim Support
- Coordinating access to crisis intervention, legal assistance, medical care, and other support services to victims of gender-based violence
- Collaborating with local victim service providers to ensure seamless care for survivors.
Recommended Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, criminal justice, public health, gender studies, or a related field
- Extensive knowledge of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking issues
- Experience in designing and implementing prevention programs, including bystander intervention strategies
- Proven ability to work effectively with diverse populations and build community partnerships
- Strong leadership and project management skills
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Experience with grant writing and reporting
