Job Description
Saint Augustine's University is conducting an internal search for Provost & Vice President of Academic Affairs. The provost is a key member of the President's cabinet and is the Chief Academic Officer reporting directly to the President. As the Chief Academic Officer, the Provost is responsible for leading, adapting and implementing an evolving academic vision for the university and developing strategies to accomplish that vision.
The provost must be able to work collaboratively with members of the executive cabinet, faculty and staff within the confines of shared governance. The provost conducts oversight of all academic programs, curriculum, academic planning and budgets, and provides leadership and inspiration for the academic deans and the faculty to provide leadership of initiatives in teaching and learning. Working closely with faculty and staff, the provost also has the responsibility of reviewing, improving, and enforcing all University academic policies.
Required Qualifications
The university's accreditation with SACS-COC is a top priority at Saint Augustine's University, so the Interim Provost must have extensive experience with SACS-COC. Other key areas of experience must include :
- Experience with budget and resource management at the university level
- Ability to work collaboratively with the student experience and operations division to both recruit and retain students
- Demonstrated commitment to the university's mission
- Hold an earned terminal degree
- Demonstrate a record of academic accomplishment and scholarship that merits consideration for this position.
