PROVIDE A POSITIVE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE BY BEING CONFIDENT, INTUITIVE,
AND DIRECTIVE.
• Welcome customers immediately with sincerity and enthusiasm
• Maintain an active floor presence, demonstrating availability and openness to the customer
• Engage customers with an intuitive approach to determine their needs
• Use appropriate directive language, for example, “Let’s...” to take control of the sale
• Consider teaming up with other sales people to complete the customer’s look
• Optimize team selling opportunities when adding merchandise from other departments to
ensure the customer gets the best service
• Utilize our POS ship to process to complete the sale when necessary
• Assign customer’s information to the sale.
PROVIDE AN EXCEPTIONAL FITTING ROOM EXPERIENCE.
• Offer to see every item on the customer, providing honest feedback about fit, style, and
technicality of the clothing
• Bring additional merchandise to complete your customer’s look
• Return to the fitting room often to check in on the customer and remove unwanted
merchandise
• Do not take on too many customers, this results in bad customer service.
• Dressing room clean-out will be the responsibility of the sales associate.
• Be sure to place any items your customer decides against back on the sales floor in their
appropriate location.
DEVELOP BUSINESS BY CREATING MEANINGFUL RELATIONSHIPS WITH
YOUR CUSTOMERS.
• Add accurate customer information on a regular basis
• Invite the customer to upcoming special events as appropriate
• Follow thru on commitments made to the customer, including transfers and hold updates
• Be sure you are writing thank you notes each week.
COMPLETE THE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE WITH AN ACCURATE AND
EFFICIENT CHECKOUT.
• Demonstrate accuracy and efficiency at point of sale, and offer to sign them up for our
email list
• Offer to fold, wrap, or hang the customer’s purchase and offer to bring to the car if needed.
• Be gracious when accepting returns and turn them into a sale when possible
ADDRESS ALL CUSTOMER CONCERNS IN A PROACTIVE AND HELPFUL MANNER.
• Listen attentively to the customer without interrupting and acknowledge their concerns
and needs
• Defuse any frustration with understanding and care
DEMONSTRATE KNOWLEDGE AND PROFICIENCY IN ALL TASKS AND PROCEDURES
TO SUPPORT THE SALES FLOOR.
• Be prepared for work daily by knowing store and personal goals, checking daily figures,
and walking the floor for new merchandise
• Stay current on fashion trends and sales knowledge and skills by attending trainings and
classes
• Maintain the department when customers are not present, including stocking and maintaining
displays
• Complete stock work and daily tasks accurately and in a timely manner
• Follow all inventory procedures – markdowns, re-ticketing, RAs, transfers, etc.
• Comply with all ringing and re-write guidelines stated in the commission policy.
• Be sure you are checking the floor plan in the RedBook for the area you are responsible for.
• It is an expectation that you help with the product that is coming off the truck and pull
replenishment everyday.
• Be prepared to answer store phone calls in a prompt and polite manner.
