Job Summary
The Family Peer Advocate (FPA) will provide six Family Support Services (engagement, bridging and transition
I support, community connections and natural supports, self-advocacy and empowerment, parent skill development, and promoting effective family driven practice) while managing the network "soft-line" i communication. Family Peer Advocates will carry a caseload of 15. This position is a direct report to the Family Sup Nek Supervisor.
Duties
Maintain a caseload of 15 families.
Offer an array of formal and services and supports to families that have a child with social, behavioral, emotional, health and/or developmental needs.
Work as a team with the Family Support Network and with the Family Network Supervisor in developing program goals and outcomes.
Welcome and document all walk-in clients and any resources allocated.
Model self-sufficiency techniques and advocacy techniques with families.
Attend all required training to include Parent Empowerment Program (PEP) and Family Needs and Strengths (FANS) and receive credentialing one month after hire.
Be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights and alternate Saturdays. Any other tasks assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
HS Diploma/GED and "lived experience" as a caregiver who has navigated multiple child serving systems is required.
