SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PATHOLIGIST - PRE SCHOOL
Full Time/Part Time: Regular Full Time
Salary$136,500.00
Job Summary:
The Speech-Language Pathologist assumes primary responsibility for providing services for children needing evaluation and/or remediation for speech and language deficits.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Implement treatment plans as part of therapeutic intervention in the area of speech and language development.
- Maintain and review daily records of student progress, ensuring reports are completed and submitted in a timely manner.
- Submit progress updates and IEP goals in speech for annual reviews, requested reviews and graduating children.
- Utilize standardized tests as well as clinical observations to assess students' strengths and deficits and prepare written annual evaluation reports.
- Refer children for additional audiological consultations and medical evaluations when necessary.
- Participate actively as a member of the school's interdisciplinary therapeutic team, attend regularly scheduled staff and team meetings.
Education & Experience:
- Master in Speech Pathology
- New York State Speech Pathology License
- New York State Certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped or New York State Certification as a Teacher of Students with Speech-Language Disabilities
- One-year experience with language impaired children
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate clearly and effectively. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
