What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Peer Support Services Worker position at Saint Dominic's Family Services?
Summary
The Youth Peer Support Services Worker will be responsible for engaging youth and their families in order to assist them in identifying their needs as well as achieving their goals. The Youth Peer Support Services worker will be an integral part of the Children and Family Treatment Support Services (CFTSS) Program and will participate in supportive, recreational and educational activities offered to youth and families.
Duties
The Youth Peer Support Services worker will support the Children and Family Treatment Support Services (CFTSS) Program and be responsible for:
- Work to engage youth in planning their own care and having their voice heard
- Comply with New York State Office of Mental Health regulations
- Conference on a regular basis with the Care Managers and Supervisor
- Provide community outreach
- Completion of timely progress notes and required paperwork within 48 hours to meet compliance mandates
- Home visits and field work
- Maintenance of case documentation in an orderly and complete manner
- Serve as a liaison with community resources
- Provide public education about youth mental health issues
