Job Description
The Foster Care Homes Worker uses their abilities, under supervision, to support resource families in providing safe, secure care for children in out-of-home placement.
- Engages and assists prospective resource (kin, relative, foster, and adoptive) families for placement of support resources for children
- Completes written documentation and licensing requirements per DHHS guidelines for resource (kin, relative, foster, and adoptive) families
- Completes written annual documentation and licensing requirements for resource families
- Provides TIPS-MAPP and Deciding Together preparation for prospective resource families
- Provides training regarding resource (kinship foster and adoptive) care, as needed
- Assures that conferences and related activities are conducted within standards
- Completes and distributes written documentation accurately and timely
- Facilitates conferences and / or assists staff in conducting conferences and related activities
- Liaison with DHHS, the courts, community resources, and families
- Provides services according to compliance guidelines
- Participates in team meetings
- Conducts required number of visits to the resource home
- Assures the resource home has what is needed to provide services to the children in the home
- Implements Saint Francis Ministries policies and follows directives as required. Follows and adheres to all pertinent Saint Francis Ministries Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), rules, personnel policies and procedures; related accreditation and licensure standards; and federal, state and local rules, statutes, regulations, and contractual terms
- Is knowledgeable of and follows all safety procedures
- Reports unusual incidents through appropriate Risk Management, clinical and safety channels
- Ensures clients' rights are protected
