We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in radiographic exposure techniques, anatomy, and physiology, with the ability to administer pharmaceuticals intravenously for imaging procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Operate diagnostic radiologic equipment to produce high-quality radiographic images of the body.
- Position patients and adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified areas of the body requested by physicians.
- Explain procedures to patients, ensuring their understanding, cooperation, and comfort during imaging procedures.
- Administer appropriate pharmaceuticals, place IV's, and administer enemas as required.
- Maintain radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding skills, and applicable exposure factors to minimize radiation to patients, staff, and others.
- Obtain acceptable radiographic images using Computerized Radiology and/or CR/DR techniques and protocols.
- Acquire and disseminate patient information data for exam orders using Hospital EMR Systems.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure proper operating status and report malfunctions according to established protocols.
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
- Registration from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Current CPR Certification.
- 6 months to 1 year of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of radiographic exposure techniques and protocols.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- Ability to properly administer pharmaceuticals intravenously for imaging procedures.
- Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to integrate analysis of data to discover facts or develop knowledge, concepts, or interpretations.
