JOB SUMMARY
The Supervisor position is responsible for managing the daily operations of their respective area(s). Areas of oversight include but may not be limited to Scheduling and Authorization positions within Revenue Cycle. This position oversees areas in operation 24 hours a day 365 days per year and may be required to work varied hours to meet business needs. This position works well independently solving problems and acts as liaison with others outside the department to create smooth workflows and transitions of information needed for Scheduling/Authorization.The individual is responsible for completion of employee evaluations, disciplinary action, interviewing, hiring, and termination. The Supervisor is goal-oriented and makes decisions based on the worth and success of each individual involved in the Revenue Cycle. There is responsibility for adhering to compliance with CMS, commercial and third party payers, EMTALA, and The Joint Commission rules and regulations and ensuring compliance.
This position must stay abreast of computer system changes and enhancements as well as assist during implementation and optimization. This position is responsible for staff training and development through in-services, seminars and meetings.
Additional duties include:
- Development and execution of productivity and quality reports for staff use and reporting to Manager.
- This position helps to manage denials, productivity, authorization, scheduling, and follow-up work queues for timely completion to not impede Revenue Cycle.
- Is productive and exhibits excellent work ethic.
- Greater than 50% of the Supervisor's time will be spent on leadership functions and will assist front line team members as needed to meet departmental benchmarks and goals.
- This individual will be cross trained with the Registration Supervisor(s) to assist as needed.
- Promotes harmonious and efficient intra and inter departmental relationships and delivers quality customer service.
- Adheres to the Mission, Vision, Values and Philosophy of the departments and Saint Francis Healthcare System.
- Constantly works with and maintains restricted or confidential information from many sources within the Healthcare System.

JOB DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTS
Type: Full Time (80 hours per 2 week pay period, with benefits)
Typical Hours: 40 hours per week, hours vary
Education:
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or healthcare related field preferred. Will consider comparable experience in lieu of bachelor's degree.
- Experience must be related to healthcare business office, registration, accounting, scheduling, or other healthcare area.
Certification & Licensures:
N/A
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or minimum of four years' experience in a healthcare business office, registration, accounting, scheduling, or other healthcare setting.
- Experience with CPT, HCPCS, Revenue and ICD codes and uses is a plus.
