Planning and Implementing Educational Activities:
- Develop and lead age-appropriate learning activities that support cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Use various teaching methods, including play-based learning, arts, and hands-on activities, to engage children.
Child Supervision and Care:
- Supervise children in classrooms, outdoor play areas, or other environments.
- Ensure children’s safety and well-being at all times.
Assessing Development:
- Monitor and document the growth and development of each child.
- Identify and address individual needs, creating a positive learning environment for all children.
Supporting Social Skills:
- Promote positive social interactions by guiding children in sharing, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
- Encourage self-expression, cooperation, and teamwork among children.
Communication with Parents/Guardians:
- Maintain regular communication with parents about the child's progress and well-being.
- Provide updates on developmental milestones, behavior, and achievements.
Collaboration with Team Members:
- Work with fellow educators, assistants, and other staff to ensure a supportive and enriching learning environment.
- Participate in professional development activities and meetings.
Classroom Management:
- Establish and maintain a positive and structured classroom environment.
- Set clear expectations for behavior and ensure children are following them.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
St. Francis Early Education Center is a licensed facility and requires that all teachers have the following qualifications. The employee must have attained one of the following options in order to be hired for this position.
- At least 750 hours of qualifying teaching experience in a certified Child Care Center
- One year or 1,500 hours of qualifying teaching experience in Registered Family or Certified Family child care
- Documentation of attaining at least step 6 in the Oregon Registry
- A minimum of an Associate’s Degree from a college or university with a major in early childhood education, child development, special education, human development or child and family studies
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is usually performed in the school within the time frame. Staff is occasionally required to attend evening meetings and other special events. In addition, faculty/staff will attend any in-service or professional development meetings deemed necessary by the administration.

Pay: Salary starts at $23.19/hr
