Saint Francis University invites applications for 12-month full time non-tenured position of BSN Program Director in the Department of Nursing. The BSN Program Director is responsible to the Chairperson for administering all aspects of the BSN program. The BSN Program Director will be the primary liaison with the PA State Board of Nursing for pre-licensure students, and cover those duties associated with that position: such as overseeing coordination of and development of BSN courses, securing sites for clinical education, and ensuring that academic and clinical educators /preceptors adhere to the program outcomes.
The BSN Program Director will have undergraduate teaching responsibilities, advise students, participate in departmental and University service activities, be involved in recruitment and retention activities, and ongoing scholarship/professional development within the Undergraduate Nursing program. Expertise in curriculum innovation as well as commitment to teaching and scholarly excellence expected.
Successful candidates should hold a DNP or PhD at time of hire with a current, unencumbered Pennsylvania RN license or ability to obtain a RN license within PA. At least three years of clinical experience required. Experience in higher education, including teaching. Preference for administrative experience. Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership and collaborative skills. Commitment to producing high quality nursing students to meet the rigorous demands of the clinical setting. Rank will be based on previous experience.
