Saint Francis University invites applications for full-time non-tenured position of Director of the Experiential Learning Commons in the School of Health Sciences & Education. The Director serves as the manager and the leader of simulation-based learning for the University. The Director serves as an educator ensuring the quality, integrity, and defined standards within the ELC. The Director will utilize their broad experience in curriculum and education, simulation teaching, clinical knowledge, and leadership skills to create a vision for the ELC and supervise faculty and staff while in the ELC. Will play a key role in facilitating simulation across all departments within the University and with community partners. The Director collaborates with faculty and community partners to design, plan, implement and schedule simulation activities. The individual will ensure the effective and efficient operation of the lab, assess, and provide for meeting program and student needs, and oversee the operation of high and medium fidelity technology to ensure safe and effective use of all equipment. The Director works with faculty to provide students with experiences in discipline specific and collaborative, interprofessional team-based clinical simulations and activities.
Bachelor degree in a health sciences related field with teaching experience in a clinical setting or higher education is required. Master degree in a health-related field with at least three years of experience working with development and execution of simulations in lab setting preferred. Certification in Simulation Education or willingness to obtain the certification upon hire. A clinical license is preferred. Relevant professional experience in a clinical environment with significant exposure to direct patient care required. Strong interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to work with a team. Knowledge of computer hardware/software applications used in simulator functions; Knowledge of simulation services, technologies, and applications; and knowledge anatomy, physiology, and the healthcare setting preferred.
