Saint Francis University invites applications for a full-time position as Director of Theatre for the Center for Fine Arts. The Director is responsible for the creation, implementation, and expansion of programs related to the study of theatre arts. The Director will continue to develop and expand the theatre program; direct at least two major productions each academic year; establish and maintain outreach initiatives with area high schools and other theatre communities; recruit prospective students; establish summer programming, activities, and workshops; teach theatre-related courses; and collaborate with constituents of the University and theatre community. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to contributing to the Catholic Franciscan mission of Saint Francis University, which values innovation, collaboration, and the cultivation of virtue, truth, and compassion in the modern world.
Master of Art or Master of Fine Arts in Theatre required. Minimum of two years’ teaching experience at any level preferred. Faculty rank commensurate with experience. Graduate level coursework and/or experience in scenic design and construction, lighting design, and sound design preferred. Strong oral, written and communication skills are desired. Experience with creating/maintaining educational programming for any/all levels and ages. Experience with acting, production, or musical theatre a plus.
