K-2 Elementary School Teacher Responsibilities
- Design and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons using a variety of visual, auditory, and hands-on learning techniques.
- Foster a warm, nurturing, and structured classroom environment that aligns with our Catholic values while supporting students' academic, social, and emotional growth.
- Assist in managing classroom technology, supporting digital learning tools.
- Incorporate interactive learning strategies, including play-based and inquiry-based activities.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including those requiring additional support or enrichment.
- Maintain an organized, welcoming, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Build strong partnerships with parents, keeping them informed of student progress through regular communication and conferences.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-curricular connections and school-wide initiatives.
- Plan and facilitate classroom and outdoor learning experiences, including faith-based activities.
- Observe and understand students’ developmental progress and communicate any concerns with the appropriate school team.
- Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to grow as an educator.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Required
- A valid California State Teaching Credential (or in progress).
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
- Practicing Catholic (required for teaching religion).
- A passion for early childhood education and creating a joyful, inclusive learning environment.
- Experience with differentiated instruction, play-based learning, and social-emotional development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to working in partnership with parents and colleagues.
- Preferred
- At least two years of teaching experience in early elementary grades (preferred).
