About the Position:
Saint Ignatius High School, a highly successful Jesuit college preparatory school for boys in Cleveland, Ohio, is seeking an exceptional science teacher beginning with the 2025-2026 school year. This full-time position will include planning for and teaching a full load of physics and/or chemistry and leadership of one student advisory. Depending on the candidate’s professional experience, the opportunity to teach other science courses is possible.
Experience teaching high school science is a plus, as well as a willingness to participate in the extracurricular and faith formation life of the school. The candidate should expect to engage in ongoing professional development opportunities. Primary Areas of Responsibility:
- Plan for and teach a full load of science courses in chemistry and/or physics.
- Guide high-impact, college-preparatory learning activities that align with our school standards and mission.
- Create and maintain a classroom with fair and consistent standards in all areas--including content and assessments as well as fostering interpersonal relationships and positive student behavior.
- Serve as an advisor to a group of students.
- Participate in the extracurricular life of the school, either through participation in Science Olympiad, First Robotics, or another activity of choice.
- Participate in the mission life of the school by attending student retreats, serving at all-school masses, participating in service projects, etc.
- Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemistry, physics, or integrated science;
- Experience teaching in a high school classroom setting. Familiarity with college preparatory Catholic, Jesuit education is a plus.
- Current Ohio teaching license in AYA Integrated Science or eligibility to obtain.

Saint Ignatius High School, which opened its doors September 6, 1886, is a Jesuit college-preparatory school. The school enrolls more than 1,500 young men who hail from 96 cities in a nine-county region.
Academically, Saint Ignatius is a regional and state leader in National Merit finalists. To challenge students and prepare them for college, the Saint Ignatius curriculum offers 21 Advanced Placement (AP) and 32 honors courses.
