What are the responsibilities and job description for the High School Receptionist position at Saint Johns Unified School District 1?
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience as a receptionist (preferred)
- Knowledge in Google and Microsoft products (preferred)
- Integrity and professionalism
- Ability to respond effectively to the needs of a diverse student population
- Ability to collect and analyze data
- Ability and willingness to develop and maintain effective and positive relationships with students, teachers, parents, administrators, and staff
Reports to: High School Assistant Principal
Responsibilities: Receptionist, Attendance Specialist, & Registrar
Receptionist:
- Perform regular office duties, including: greeting parents, students, teachers, substitutes, etc. in the front office, answering the main phone line, transferring calls, taking messages, making copies, sorting mail, using fax machine, typing, using internet, etc.
- Receive and enter payments
- Take student and staff pictures and print ID badges
- Perform any other related duties as required
Attendance:
- Assist in PowerSchool attendance taking and reports
- Oversee the tracking and communication of attendance with teachers and parents/guardians
- Follow district procedures for student attendance and truancy
- Perform any other related duties as required
Registrar:
- Oversee student registration in the fall and new student registration throughout the school year
- Keep all student records as requested by the counselor or administration
- Maintain student files, including permanent records; request records of incoming students and provide records to other schools for students who transfer
- Assist district with yearly audits
- Assist school counselor with student schedules and other counseling department responsibilities
- Perform other related duties as required
Terms of Employment: 40 hours a week\10 months. Salary established by the Governing Board. Employee benefits in accordance with district policies.
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the Governing Board policy on evaluation of classified personnel.
