What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Technician position at Saint Johns Unified School District 1?
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least two years of experience in payroll or accounting using a computer application preferred.
- Must be computer literate.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with co-workers and district personnel.
- Able to obtain or possess an Arizona DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Reports To: Business Manager
Job Goal: To effectively and efficiently work with district personnel to provide accurate payroll vouchers which pay employees correctly and on time.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Prepares a schedule of payroll deadlines for time sheets and makes this schedule available to all supervisors.
- Prepares workman’s compensation reports, billing, and compensation claims.
- Prepares payroll vouchers and posts payroll earnings to individual earing records.
- Maintains payroll files and employee deduction files.
- Prepares federal and state reports as required.
- Prepares all contracts/job agreements.
- Assists employees with enrollment in insurance programs.
- Serves as custodian of district bank accounts and county deposits.
- Prepares all addenda contracts and assures that those with an addendum are being properly paid.
- Assists employees and former employees with health insurance questions. Handles
COBRA enrollments.
- Prepares billing for insurance and supplemental insurance companies.
- Maintains and manage employee benefits
- Performs other related duties as required.
Terms of Employment: 12 months. Salary established by the Governing Board.
Salary : $18 - $20
