Responsibilities

The Director of Behavioral Health, oversees all functions of the Behavioral Health Program on a 24-hour basis. They lead the supervision, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Additionally, they devise and execute programmatic plans, ensuring compliance with current regulations and conducting performance improvement activities.

In this role, the Director supervises and assesses all staff within the Behavioral Health program, effectively managing resources and time for the unit. They report directly to the CNO and maintain clear communication with staff, physicians, and administration through both written and verbal channels.

Furthermore, the Director develops and implements comprehensive Behavioral Health Programming tailored to meet patient demographic needs while aligning with the organization's mission, philosophy, and objectives.

They integrate Behavioral Health Services into the continuum of care as per facility requirements, offering leadership, direction, and clinical supervision in line with organizational and departmental goals.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Must have a current and valid Registered Nurse Licensure.
2. Master's degree in psychiatric or mental health nursing, (preferred)
3. Must have a Bachelor's degree, with at least 2 years' experience in psychiatric nursing providing care to the mentally ill, or be qualified by education and experience in the care of the mentally ill, in accordance with local and state regulatory requirements.
4. Must have minimum of two (2) years management experience with Behavioral Health Care programs.
5. Must have BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
6. Must have working knowledge of mental health laws and practice standards.
7. Must have knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health treatment.
8. Must have excellent verbal, written, and management skills.

Benefits may vary based on employment status, i.e. full-time, part-time, per diem or temporary. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $94,473.60 to $155,292.80 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
