Responsibilities of the Director of Food Services include:
This individual is responsible for supervising and director food service personnel, maintaining sanitary food conditions, maintaining pertinent records, and for the purchasing, storage, preparation, and serving of nourishing food.
Responsibilities include:
- Participates in menu planning with dietitian, including seasonal and holiday changes.
- Utilizes dietary software to ensure that tray tickets, menus, recipes, and purchasing lists are accurate.
- Oversees storage, preparation, and serving of food in accordance with regulatory standards and center policies.
- Ensures that residents receive specific and individualized food preferences.
- Manages food-related marketing initiatives.
- Participates in the interviewing, hiring, orientation, performance evaluation, counseling, and termination of all dietary department personnel.
- Develops and conducts in-service education and training for staff in pertinent areas of food service.
- Current Certified Food Service Manager preferred.
- Ideally will have at least three-year experience as food service director or manager in a healthcare food service setting.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations regarding food service.
- Must maintain current ServSafe certification.
