The primary function of this position is to ensure required standards for the care and protection of children at the program. The Child Care Attendant must work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and be responsible for providing direct care to the Trinity Child Care Center children.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Must provide appropriate direct care services provided to program participants who are medically complex and or fragile children under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
- Maintains a collaborative relationship with the interdisciplinary health team.
- Participates in interdisciplinary staffing meetings.
- Assures that the Trinity Child Care Center provides an environment conducive to the stabilization of the child’s medical conditions and promotion of the child’s development.
- Follows through on all educational and developmental goals and programs outlined in each child’s individual care plan.
- Provides for safe care, nutrition and personal hygiene.
- Creates a stimulating environment and participates in educational and recreational play.
- Attends trainings and in-service programs as required.
- Complies with all applicable policies and procedures.
- Maintains confidentiality related to every aspect of the work conducted at St. Joseph’s Center.
- Maintains a cooperative relationship with coworkers and supervisors and creates an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust within the department.
- Comes to work as scheduled and is punctual.
- Is flexible to changes in duties, priorities, methods and environments.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned and remains flexible to the diverse needs of the facility.
- Demonstrated skills and competencies in medical management of care for critically ill children.
Education And/or Experience
- 1 year of pediatric care experience, defined as being responsible for the care of acutely ill or chronically ill children
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid PA Driver’s License
- Ability to sit 1-3 hours per day.
- Ability to stand 1-3 hours per day.
- Ability to walk 1-3 hours per day.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move items weighing 25-50 pounds.
- Ability to twist upper portion of body on an infrequent basis.
- Ability to squat, bend and kneel for short periods of time.
