Position Summary and Qualifications :
The Associate Athletic Trainer will assist the Athletic Training Staff with the provision of medical care, prevention, rehabilitation and comprehensive athletic training services along with other duties assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer and / or the Senior Associate Director of Athletics for High Performance. This is a 10-month full time position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Assist Head Athletic Trainer in providing medical care for all varsity student-athletes including : physical examinations, physician referrals, evaluation, prevention and rehabilitation of athletic injuries, etc.
- Collaborate with all High-Performance staff members, including athletic trainers, strength and conditioning coaches, mental health providers, nutritionists, Student Health Services personnel, Counseling and Psychological Services personnel, and team physicians to facilitate proactive injury prevention techniques, rehabilitation program design, and appropriate treatment techniques for varsity student-athletes.
- Communicate with physicians and arrange for their services for the athletic department.
- Maintain and monitor records required for insurance transactions and medical and rehabilitation notes.
- Assist with inventorying the athletic training equipment and supplies and requisitioning purchases.
- Communicate regularly with coaches regarding any changes in the health and fitness of the athletes and making necessary stipulations regarding the athletes' participation.
- Travel as needed to provide athletic training services to student-athletes.
