We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic early childhood aide. The position is Full-time, Monday – Friday. We are looking for a person who loves kids and enjoys being part of a wonderful school community.
In preschool, our goal is to foster creativity, independence, and decision-making to raise confident, creative, and compassionate kids. You will provide support to the lead teacher in the classroom. You will promote early literacy skills and language proficiency in the context of research-based and field-tested content in ELA, science, and social studies. You will weave mathematical learning into preschool students’ daily activities. You will incorporate purposeful play in the activities for the day and focus on the academic, social, physical, and emotional well-being of students to prepare them for robust learning in Pre-K and kindergarten.
Primary Responsibilities
The Teaching Assistant will complete assigned duties under the guidance of the lead teacher. These responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
-Help to create a warm and faith-filled classroom environment where all can grow and learn
-Assist with the preparation of classroom activities, projects and artwork displays
-Work with students participating in whole group and small group learning activities
-Help students with arrival and dismissal procedures
-Provide supervision at recess, free play and field trips
-Help to maintain a clean classroom environment
Support teachers in managing classroom behavior
Desired Skills
-Previous experience working with children, preferably in a classroom setting
-Patience and active listening skills to understand children's needs
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills
