Middle School Guidance Counselor

We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic counselor who will assist our students in navigating the daily struggles associated with middle school. The position is Full-time, Monday – Friday. We are looking for a person who loves kids and enjoys being part of a wonderful school community. The school counselors are responsible for working with students who need help managing their behavior, keeping up academically, or planning for the future. Counselors also work with administrators, teachers, and parents to develop a comfortable, healthy school environment free of bullying. Responsibilities include but not limited to: 1. Overseeing a guidance program designed to allow students to voice concerns without fear of punishment or judgment. 2. Analyzing student performance in class and identify sources of problems. 3. Getting to know students and their unique needs to offer specialized solutions. 4. Helping students develop a plan for their academic career that corresponds with their skills and interests. 5. Hosting crisis intervention and prevention programs. 6. Facilitating communication between parents, teachers, administrators, and students about behavior and academic problems. 7. Assisting with school programs and events as well as helping our 8th graders prepare for their high school experience.
