SUMMARY OF JOB:
Under the supervision of the Dining Room Dining Manager, the applicant is primarily responsible for courteously and professionally serving all residents and their guest meals either in the main dining room. Applicant is responsible for maintaining a neat and orderly work area and for informing their supervisor of food needs and resident questions and/or concerns that they are unable to answer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This summarizes the major essential duties and responsibilities regularly performed and normally assigned to this position. Listed below are the major duties of the position in no order of importance as daily business needs will change the priority level of some duties. Other duties may be assigned. May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
- Incumbent is in proper uniform, clocked in and ready to work by scheduled time; performs pre-opening and closing checklist duties as assigned by their supervisor or designee; attends production meetings before each meal is served; is courteous, knowledgeable of menu and professional at all times when serving residents and guests; keeps work stations as neat and orderly as possible during service.
- Alerts supervisor of any concerns or problems pertaining to the customer.
- Attends in-service training seminars when scheduled; follows all out-lined policies and procedures for the dining services department.
- Performs pre-opening and closing checklist duties as assigned by their supervisor or designee, keeps work stations as neat and orderly as possible during service.
- Attends production meetings before each meal is served; knowledgeable of menu and takes accurate guest orders.
- Keeps work stations & all front of house areas clean, sanitized and orderly at all times
- Is committed and focused on providing excellent customer service to all residents, guests and co-workers.
- Has and uses the customer service tools provided through department training and can be counted on to make suggestions when opportunities for service improvements arise.
- Follows all out-lined policies and procedures for the dining services department.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred, but not required)
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Previous experience in food service (preferred, but not required)
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Moderate physical effort:
- Lift/carry up to 30 lbs.
- Balance of sedentary/mobility work:
- Frequent kneeling/stooping/crouching/reaching/bending
- Frequently moves/lifts supplies or equipment
- Frequently handles, pushes residents
- Ability to communicate verbally.
- Reading/seeing/writing requires far and near visual acuity, field vision, and color vision to read written communications.
- Must be able to write legibly.
- Eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity to perform the duties of a Villa Services Assistant.
- Movement of the neck for motions associated with operating a vehicle
- Strong organization skills for clerical duties.
