Job Overview
The Accounts Receivable Specialist role is a critical position within the Student Financial Services department at Saint Leo University. This individual will be responsible for advising and assisting students and families with financing education by explaining appropriate funding options available for past due balances.
Key Responsibilities
- Cashiering Functions: The successful candidate will perform all accounts receivable functions, including but not limited to, handling incoming wires and payments, posting student payments pertaining to admission deposits, processing payment refunds, insufficient funds, and chargeback disputes, and handling departmental accounts receivable functions.
- Financial Assistance: They will advise students and families on financial options to resolve past due balances in person, via email and by phone, providing exemplary customer service and remaining student-focused at all times.
- Administrative Support: The specialist will diligently complete outreach efforts on past due balances, support recruitment and retention efforts by collaborating across departments to resolve past due balances, aid in the timely posting of account receivable functions, process departmental mail and receipt check payments, process scholarship payments, and process and print ID card requests.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma; Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution preferred.
- Experience: Two years' experience in cashiering, collections, and/or customer service.
