JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Special School District adaptive physical education (APE) teacher, you deliver individualized instruction that meets the diverse learning and physical needs of your students. Through engaging, inclusive lessons, you promote lifelong fitness and wellness, helping each student realize their full potential.
Adapted Physical Education (APE) teachers in special education settings collaborate with a range of professionals, families, and students to support inclusive physical education. They work closely with occupational and physical therapists, special education coordinators, and partner district staff to develop and implement modified activities that address students’ individual needs and promote full participation in physical education.
SSD is hiring an APE teacher to work during school hours, Monday through Friday, in the Mehlville and Hancock school districts.
