Position Summary :
The Chief of Staff ensures the District’s vision and strategic priorities translate into actionable outcomes across all departments and organizational levels. Reporting directly to the Superintendent of Schools and serving as a member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet, this role provides leadership, support, and guidance in achieving the District’s mission and strategic goals. The Chief of Staff manages district relations, media interactions, parental and community involvement, legislative matters, and change management efforts. This position may supervise a small team and also manages special projects, ensuring that strategic initiatives are successfully implemented.
Essential Functions :
- Oversee district relations, media relations, community and parental engagement, legislative affairs, and change management initiatives.
- Support the Superintendent’s Cabinet in implementing and monitoring the district’s strategic plan and Superintendent / Board priorities.
- Collaborate in strategic planning, policy development, and resolving complex issues with the Superintendent and senior leadership.
- Represent the District in interactions with government officials, community leaders, industry stakeholders, and the Board of Education.
- Prepare reports, briefings, presentations, and responses on strategic issues for internal and external audiences.
- Ensure the Superintendent's Office adheres to board policies, regulations, and local, state, and federal laws.
- Manage special projects, ensuring the alignment of strategic priorities with the District’s mission.
- Attend and participate in Board of Education meetings and other relevant sessions as required by the Superintendent.
- Analyze and manage sensitive issues in the dynamic environment of the Superintendent’s Office.
- Provide communication support to the Superintendent to effectively convey the District’s strategies, objectives, and performance to internal and external audiences.
- Assist in policy development, legislation, intergovernmental relations, and lobbying, applying strong analytical and communication skills.
- Stay updated on professional knowledge through seminars, workshops, and continuous learning.
- Manage and support the Alternative Education Program.
- Perform other duties as required.
