What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Prepper, Cafe Kudu position at Saint Louis Zoo?
Responsibilities: This position may include measuring and portioning ingredients according to recipes, washing, peeling, and cutting fruits and vegetables, marinating and seasoning meats, poultry, and fish, cooking or steaming ingredients such as rice, vegetables, and pasta, assembling salads, sandwiches, and other dishes, packaging and labeling food, cleaning and sanitizing work surfaces and kitchen equipment, assisting the chef or other kitchen staff as needed. The starting rate for this position is $15.50 per hour but may increase based on availability and experience.
Qualifications:
o Prior experience in food preparation or a similar role
o Ability to follow recipes and measurement instructions accurately
o Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
o Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
o Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume setting
o Good communication and teamwork skills
o Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
