What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research- Behavior and Animal Welfare 2025 Paid Internship position at Saint Louis Zoo?
Research interns in Behavior and Animal Welfare will support the Zoo's Manager of Behavioral Sciences and the Animal Welfare Scientist by collecting, organizing, and visualizing behavior data from a variety of species around the Zoo. Animal behavior observations are performed both live on Zoo grounds and by reviewing recorded video. Interns will collect data outdoors in a variety of temperatures and conditions. In addition to collecting behavioral data, interns may also be assigned to perform literature searches and reviews, enter data, and help with other duties. Interns will gain experience using the ZooMonitor and Noldus Observer behavior monitoring programs.
