Saint Lukes Hospital of Kansas City is accepting applications for an Acute Care or Trauma Surgeon to join the Trauma and Surgical Critical Care Specialists group. The successful applicant will join a growing and dynamic practice that covers surgical critical care, trauma surgery and emergency general surgery.
About the position
Our program is currently verified as a Level 1 trauma center by the American College of Surgeons as well as the State of Missouri
We have a robust Acute Care Surgery Service with the opportunity to perform cases on the robotic Da Vinci surgical system
Our team provides 24-hour Acute General Surgery and Trauma Surgery services with our group managing as surgical intensivists, the transplant, general surgery, surgical oncology, and neurological surgery patients and other high acuity sub-specialty patients in our surgical ICU
Saint Lukes Hospital is the primary teaching hospital for the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) Medical School
This is an academic teaching department, and all surgeons have clinical academic appointments with the UMKC Department of Surgery; teaching responsibilities include supervision of the resident staff in the areas of trauma surgery, acute care surgery, and in the surgical ICU
We have 4 APPs that deliver inpatient bedside care that include patients in the surgical ICU as well as in the outpatient setting
Opportunities may be available for a limited elective general surgery practice
Research is a core aspect of our mission, with contributions from all our surgeons; this effort is supported by the nations fourth-largest bioanalytical unit, along with additional resources provided by Saint Lukes
