Job Description
Saint Luke's Health System Nursing Assistant Training Program is now accepting applications for its Non-Certified Nursing Assistant positions. This is a great opportunity for individuals to gain experience and training in the acute care hospital setting. We are providing a longer training period so candidates with no healthcare experience looking for a career as a nursing assistant can also apply.
As part of your orientation you will go through a six-week program - which offers paid training, as well as an hourly wage. This provides a chance at a new career for individuals seeking an entry-level position in health care as a nursing assistant, and an opportunity to make a difference. The six-week program is part of a blended approach to learning, which contains didactic training, eLearnings, simulation and clinical experience. Requirement to work full time hours during the first 6 weeks. Following the 6 week training, full or part-time employment is required for a minimum of 6 months.
Weeks one and two will be in-person classroom-based training, Monday - Friday. Weeks three and four, Monday - Friday, will consist of clinical time spent at a Saint Luke's hospital on designated units with a clinical instructor. Weeks five and six will be spent on their home unit, finalizing competencies and orientation with a success coach. The final 2 weeks of the Training Program will be 3 scheduled 12 hour shifts with a CNA Preceptor.
After training, nursing assistants will work either Day Shift Hours 6 : 45 AM - 7 : 45 PM or Night Shift Hours 6 : 45 PM - 7 : 15 AM. There is also weekend and holiday requirements. We do not hire PRN positions into the Training Program, only full or part-time availability.

Responsibilities :
- Providing patient care under the direction and supervision of an RN or LPN.
- Performing direct and indirect patient care tasks.
- Providing assistance with activities of daily living and care such as bathing, hygiene, elimination and toileting, nutrition, feeding, hydration, ambulation and positioning.
- Anticipating the patient's family needs in a proactive fashion.
- Individualizing and modifying care according to the patient's needs.
- Collaborating with other health care team members to enhance the provision of patient care.
- Supporting patient safety and satisfaction by performing regular patient rounds on the nursing unit and effectively communicating with all team members while providing excellent customer service.
