Job Description
The Financial Counselor is responsible for visiting in-house patients, collecting estimated patient liability amounts, explaining all financial information and responsibilities and working closely with outside agencies to ensure patient's financial coverage.
Shift: Monday- Friday 8:30am-5:00pm

The Financial Counselor is responsible for visiting in-house patients, collecting estimated patient liability amounts, explaining all financial information and responsibilities and working closely with outside agencies to ensure patient's financial coverage.
Shift: Monday- Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
- Demonstrates excellent customer service
- Visits all insured patients in-house
- Provides estimates to patients and explains insurance benefits
- Review and manages work queue to identify daily work and follow up with FCC as appropriate
- Utilizes eligibility systems, online websites, or phone calls to determine insurance benefits
- Assist patients with payment arrangements, and in coordination with the CSU, financial applications
- Contacts patient employer, if necessary, for verification of employment, premium status
- Escalates any concerns as needed to Patient Access Manager/Supervisor
- Enters pertinent insurance information into EPIC
- Enters appropriate notes for all patient encounters
- Visit with scheduled maternity patients to arrange payment plans based on deliver dates
- Completes financial analysis and collects estimated patient liabilities
- Other duties as assigned
