Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College announces an opening for a full-time faculty member to teach and to provide clinical supervision in our MA in Art Therapy with an Emphasis in Counseling (MAAT) program. Previous teaching and supervision experience is expected with online teaching experience preferred. The candidate will meet CAAHEP accreditation standards, advise and recruit students, serve on departmental and college committees, and contribute to assessment efforts. Responsibilities will include:
- Teaching online via Canvas
- Attending and teaching in-person during all residencies
- Developing art therapy counseling curriculum and syllabi in a timely manner
- Providing faculty supervision for practicum and internship students
- Initiating and managing the practicum/internship affiliation and internship agreements in a timely manner; maintaining practicum/internship information and records as directed
- Communicating regularly with students regarding clinical hours accrued/needed
- Providing site supervisor training for outside agencies
- Assessing student progress across clinical courses
- Recruiting and advising graduate students for the program
- Demonstrating a commitment to community and university service and scholarship
- Serving on university and department committees as assigned
- Maintaining a full-time faculty teaching load
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in art therapy with a minimum of five years of clinical work experience including supervision experiences
- Art Therapy Board Certification (ATR-BC) and Counseling Licensed or License-eligible in the State of Indiana
- Teaching experience in art therapy and/or counselor education programs
- Program and course development experience
- Membership in professional art therapy and counseling organizations
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in Art Therapy or Counselor Education from CACREP accredited program (completed or in process)
- ATCS Supervisor credential from ATCB
- Successful teaching experience at the graduate level
- Scholarly work or research in art therapy/counseling/counselor education
