Description
Summary:
Primarily responsible for the safe transport of students, employees and visitors including travel for special events and park-and-ride operations.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Safely drives a College-owned bus or vehicle or a rented bus or vehicle for the transport of students, employees or visitors.
2. Performs routine maintenance inspections prior to use and according to SMWC policy.
3. Maintains a driver log; makes timely reports of accidents, incidents, and unusual occurrences.
4. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Required Indiana Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a Passenger Endorsement; ability to travel outside of Indiana.
• Minimum of one-year experience driving a multi-passenger vehicle.
• Ability to understand and follow all safety procedures.
• Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance.
• Ability to travel.
Working Conditions:
• Sitting for sustained periods of time; walking and lifting may be required.
• Evening and some weekend hours may be required.
• Day and overnight travel.
