We are seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist II (PRN), also referred to as a Medical Technologist (Med Tech) at St Mary's Medical Center a member of Prime Healthcare. The Clinical Lab Scientist II (CLS II) requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team. They play an important role in the diagnostic process, contributing significantly to patient care and treatment. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PRN.

** If you have experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) you are encouraged to apply for this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- Interpret lab test results and identify any abnormalities, ensure the accuracy and reliability of these results to assist doctors in making informed decisions about patient care
- Implement and monitor quality control procedures to maintain high standards in laboratory testing, you may also calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
- Keep accurate and detailed records of all laboratory tests performed and their results, input data into our laboratory information systems
- Ensure all laboratory operations comply with hospital policies, governmental regulations, and accreditation requirements
Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:
- ASCP certification, or equivalent
- Minimum two years of hospital laboratory work experience
- Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements as stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1489)
- Current and valid state license if the laboratory is located in a state where required
