Responsibilities:
Medical Assistant-Urgent Care responsible for assisting physicians with patient care, clerical, environmental and organization tasks. Responsible for appointment scheduling and chart management. Provides Information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinic services. Responsibility for Medical Assistant-Urgent Care interviews the patient or his/her representative to obtain identifying and verifying information, such as patient/s name, address, age, date of birth, social security number, occupation, insurance information and obtaining authorization. Also, have the capabilities of interfacing with the PBX operator and reception areas. Must be able to operate a computer to input and retrieve data. Ability to communicate with the population served, utilizing age specific techniques from neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle adult to geriatrics. Maintain proficiency in medical terminology. Conveys a positive image of organization.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. A minimum of six months experience in Urgent Care, Primary Care physician practice setting and/or direct patient care experience preferred.
2. High school diploma or equivalent.
3. Successful completion in an accredited Medical Assistant Training program and/or equivalent experience or EMT license preferred.
4. Fluency in English.
5. Must have BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire.
6. Office Laboratory Assistant License from the State of Nevada is required within 90 days of hire outside of the Cardiology Practices.
