What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Teacher position at Saint Mary's School?
Position Summary: Performs related duties of a teacher to provide continuity in the day-to-day student experience during the absence of the regular teacher. A substitute teacher is employed on an on-call, as needed, day-to-day basis. There are no benefits associated with substitute employment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages classroom and provides instruction according to plans as prepared by the faculty.
- Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives as indicated in the lesson plans for the lessons, units, or projects assigned.
- Maintains a neat and orderly classroom.
- Takes attendance in accordance with school procedures.
- Knows emergency evacuation routes for the classrooms assigned.
- Contact Institutional Leadership Team member, academic chair, or faculty member for assistance with emergencies or situations beyond scope of position.
- Knows applicable school procedures.
- Provides written information to absent teacher about students, lessons, and activities while away.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by academic chair.
