Job Summary
The Student Success Intern at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota will support key initiatives within the Student Success Center, working closely with the Senior Director of Student Success. Responsibilities include survey implementation and data analysis, supervising Orientation Leaders during June orientation, and assisting with new student and family communications. The intern will also develop training materials for summer student workers, support Parent and Family programming, and help coordinate Welcome Weekend. Additionally, they will assist with C2C summer bridge camp activities, including enrichment programming and field trips, and manage logistics for student mailings. This role offers flexibility to align with personal interests and professional growth in student success and academic support.
Salary Range: $15 / hour
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Implement a new student survey, analyzing and creating action steps based on data
- Provide supervision for Orientation Leaders during June orientation dates in conjunction with Coordinator of New Student Experience, serving as an on call, overnight professional staff member
- Create and present training materials for summer student workers (summer workers include orientation leaders and C2C summer bridge camp counselors)
- Assist with maintaining incoming student data, including communications with new students and their families regarding orientation, registration, and common questions
- Assist Coordinator of New Student Experience with Parent and Family programming during June orientation dates
- Lead enrichment activities for the C2C summer bridge camp (crafts, sports, etc.) Chaperone field trips for the C2C summer bridge camp
- Serve on Welcome Weekend planning committee
- Lead the logistics for student mailings throughout the summer
Qualifications
Experience and Education Requirements
- Earned bachelor’s degree
- Current graduate student, preferred Higher Education, School Counseling, Education, Event Planning /
- Management, Organizational Leadership, Educational Leadership

Physical Demands[ ] Sedentary work. Sedentary work involves lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionallylifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined asone which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out jobduties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally and other sedentary criteriaare met.[x] Light work. Light work involves lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting orcarrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Even though the weight lifted may be very little, a job is inthis category when it requires a good deal of walking or standing, or when it involves sitting most of thetime with some pushing and pulling of arm or leg controls. To be considered capable of performing a full orwide range of light work, you must have the ability to do substantially all of these activities.[ ] Medium work. Medium work involves lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting orcarrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.[ ] Heavy work.
